2026年3月４日、飯倉公館において、第19回日本国際漫画賞授賞式が開催され、日本国際漫画賞実行委員長である茂木敏充外務大臣が出席しました。

「日本国際漫画賞」は、海外への漫画文化の普及と漫画を通じた国際文化交流の促進を目的として、優れた漫画作品を創作した海外の漫画作家を顕彰するため、平成19年に外務省が創設しました。第19回は、110の国・地域から738作品（いずれの数字も過去最多）の応募があり、最優秀賞1作品（ブラジル）、優秀賞3作品（サウジアラビア、ベトナム、台湾）を含む受賞作15作品が選ばれました。

授賞式では、国際交流基金の招へいによって訪日した最優秀賞及び優秀賞受賞に対し、茂木大臣から賞状が、里中満智子審査委員長からトロフィーがそれぞれ授与されました。

On March 4, 2026, the 19th Japan International MANGA Award Ceremony was held at Iikura Guest House, with Minister for Foreign Affairs MOTEGI Toshimitsu, Chairperson of the Executive Committee, attending.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs established the Japan International MANGA Award in 2007 to honor overseas manga artists who have created outstanding manga works. The award aims to promote manga culture abroad and foster international cultural exchange through manga. This year, a record 738 entries were received from a record 110 countries and regions. Fifteen works were selected as award winners, including one Gold Award winner (from Brazil) and three Silver Award winners (from Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, and Taiwan).

At the award ceremony, Minister MOTEGI presented certificates of commendation to the Gold and Silver Award winners, who had been invited to Japan by the Japan Foundation. Ms. Machiko SATONAKA, Chairperson of the Selection Committee, presented them with trophies.
