東京都八王子市に所在する山野美容芸術短期大学は日本で初めて文部科学省に認めれた大学教育（高等教育機関）として美容教育を行っています。

Yamano College of Aesthetics located in Hachioji-shi, Tokyo ​is the first in Japan to conduct beauty education (course of higher education) as college education recognized by the Ministry of Education in Japan.
Our main goal is for all people to “live beautifully” as our foundation, we offer not only education in the beauty related areas of beautician qualification, hair/makeup, nails, esthe, and kimono dressing, and broad learning in business, English language, health, psychology, and nutrition, but also for a wide variety of industries beyond that of beauty, so that our students may succeed in an ever changing global society.
